What we have built.

The electronic gear-shift unit of the VanMoof S3 has well-known reliability problems. We reverse engineered the original — down to the bus protocol the bike uses to drive it — and then rebuilt both the board and the firmware. The replacement speaks the same protocol, but runs entirely our own software.

• › Drop-in replacement: same connector and same Modbus address, so the bike cannot tell the difference

Belt-driven e-bikes have one vulnerable gap, where a wide or flared trouser leg can get caught between the belt and the chainring. The FlareGuard closes exactly that gap. An in-house product taken from idea to sale — design, production, webshop and order handling.
